Gift Day at Ingatestone Parish Church

held on Easter Saturday between 10am and 4pm

Successful Easter Saturday

The Gift Day at St. Edmund and St. Mary parish Church on Easter Saturday raised over £17,500. Thanks are due to everyone who responded so generously, despite the weather being unseasonably cold. Those who came to the church were greeted with a warm drink and were able to watch a PowerPoint presentation and hear either the piano or organ being played. Contributions are still welcomed towards the target of £70,000 towards the new heating system that will address the damp problem, better lighting, refurbishment of the Petre Chapel and redecoration the church interior. Contributions payable to Ingatestone P.C.C. should be sent to Martin Taylor, 16 Tor Bryan, CM4 9HJ.

Original announcement of event

This Easter Saturday, 22nd of March, will be your opportunity to give towards the new heating system for our church.

There is a leaflet available in church outlining how the heating system fits with wider plans to develop the Petre Chapel and decorate the whole  church. For details of the development plans – click here.

The work on the heating system has a start date in October. The cost of the work is 44,150 and has been approved by the Diocesan authorities.

Some people have already given to this project. I have personally pledged 500 after having given a similar amount towards the choir desks. Do  please either bring your gifts on 22nd of March or pay them to Martin  Taylor, 16 Tor Bryan, CM4 9HJ before that date. Cheques should be

made payable to Ingatestone PCC. Also remember to Gift Aid them if you pay tax. A gift of 500 will have 140 added by the Treasury. However, the Gift Aid rate is due to drop shortly, so please do not delay your gift. You can print a Gift Aid declaration form here.

Whether the amount you can give is large or small, all gifts will be very  gratefully received. The new heating system will be more efficient, less obtrusive and far kinder to the ancient walls of our church.
