Bereavement Services

                      Bereavement & Aftercare Support Group

Bereavement affects everyone at some time in their lives, and dealing with grief and coming to terms with a new situation can be very difficult.

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Funeral Services realised that for people in such situations there was nowhere to go, no readily available support network and little professional help.

Tony Gudgeon, the Society’s Chief Executive stated, “The idea for our Bereavement and Aftercare groups came from our Funeral employees who are dealing with the consequences of loss on a daily basis and who realised that a Bereavement Support Service would be valued by many”.

The Society presently has three groups based in Chelmsford, Braintree and Ingatestone.  The Ingatestone group meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the Parish Rooms, Stock Lane, Ingatestone from 10.00 am – 12.00 noon.

Reverend Patrick Sherring of St Edmunds and St Marys Church, Ingatestone and Fryerning said, “This is a valuable service which has helped a number of people by giving friendship and support; whenever possible, I also go along to offer my support”.

If you require more information, please telephone the Co-operative Funeral Home at
47 High Street, Ingatestone – telephone number 01277 350988.

The Group is open to everyone, there is no charge, so if you feel in need or know someone who is in need, please come along.
