The new furniture in the vestry at Fryerning church has just won a 'Highly Commended award' from the Diocese of Chelmsford Diocesan Advisory Committee.
This is the highest award, and has only be awarded to two churches this year.
Michael Bysouth, a local craftsman, designed and made a desk, large wall cupboard, low level cupboard, and a support for the safe in the vestry. He also refurbished an intricate Vicorian pine chair. In the space under the church tower we now have a unique cupboard with hanging rails for storing the altar frontals.
We are all very pleased to have received such an accolade from the DAC.
